Introducing Cognition Community: Version 2.0
Home to freelancers, creators, and writers
Eight months ago, in July, I launched an invite-only community - and had HUGE plans for it. It started great. We regularly posted content in the community, conducted deep work sessions, and even screened a film for the fun nights.
With time, it drifted and drifted badly. I couldn’t allocate as much time as I should have. Some new connections were made, deep work sessions were a hit, yet I don’t think I have provided the level of value I imagined I could.
It was my first time managing a community and I am grateful to the present 45 members who shaped Cognition Insiders for good.
I have made mistakes, took some right decisions, and, more importantly, learned from them. Now I have a better understanding of communities than ever before.
…which is why I believe we are ready for the next step
Introducing Cognition Insiders 2.0
so what’s new?
Cognition Insiders is no longer Private
We have decided to open doors for every curious learner who wants to make it big in the content world.
We will move from an exclusive invite-only community (and referral program reward) to a public community accessible to all Cognition subscribers.
We are moving to Discord
We started on WhatsApp. I understand WhatsApp communities are booming and convenient. We might even face some friction when onboarding community members—we are aware of it.
But considering the value we aspire to create beyond interactions, we believe Discord is the right place.
We are creating content within the community so you can learn, interact, and share your input with all our members. We are building a home for creators, freelancers, and writers to become better content professionals.
POV: Cognition Insiders from your Desktop
If you have noticed, we have created separate channels to categorize conversations for a more focused approach.
Aditi is here
I can’t handle it alone. I need someone to help me moderate, create value, and grow the community. Aditi is brilliant with community building and really good with people. She will make sure we deliver everything we promise.
Why should you join Cognition Insiders?
Deep Work Sessions: Remote jobs are less motivating. We create a work-like environment where you get on a Gmeet with your peers and work silently with your cameras on.
Community-only Content: We have created a calendar till the end of April with copy/business breakdowns, prompts to improve your writing, external resources, and gems from the Cognition archive. The goal is to create a learning space and encourage you to speak your mind.
Online Meetups: We planned networking and fun events to ensure there’s some play between all work.
In July, I overpromised and underdelivered. This time, I want to stay silent and build the best experience possible.
